It is indeed brilliant - and I don't normally like vampire books. I have got my name in the back and I'm very proud to have it there. I await the next volume with bated breath.

What is the book about?

A traumatic incident leaves Neona without the desire to keep living and a fear that she’s not entirely human, and her mother is less than forthcoming. She is soon sent to live with her Grandmother where, after making some unusual new friends, she begins a dangerous quest to unravel the mysteries of her supernatural identity. Neona continues to face the eternal struggle between what people want her to be and who she actually is, as the world she thought she knew begins to disclose its unbelievable secrets.
I’ve written Unbelievable for a predominantly teenage audience, but my most favourable compliments on the story have come from grown-up men…even one who usually enjoys books about fishing…thus proving that my potential audience is: everyone! My first draft of the novel is complete and I am now in the process of honing and polishing the book (so you won’t have to wait ages until you can read it).
Unbelievable started life a few years ago as a story that I was challenged to write by some of my students, but it grew and grew and now it just keeps on growing. In fact, I’ve already named and planned two sequels…

The Excerpt
The third time the knife sliced through her clothing, it cut deepest. Sharp as heat through butter, but this was no blunt cutlery; this was a knife designed for gutting defenceless creatures on a hunting trip, the kind of knife you needed skill to wield. And this predator had skill.
The Author
I am a 29 year-old secondary school English teacher with a love of writing and telling stories. I’ve shared a lot of my work on abctales.com, a fantastic writing community who have offered me valuable feedback and support over the years. I don’t believe that all the best books that have ever been written have had a chance to be published, and that’s exactly what Unbound is trying to change. I’m hugely flattered to be chosen as their first unknown author - Unbelievable is my first novel. I also write quite a lot of poetry, song lyrics for a very talented friend, and the odd short story.
I’ll add some more examples of my work to my shed, as well as additional extracts from the novel, so that when you pledge, you can further explore my fantastical world.
